Junior Sous Chef (Steamboat Springs)

Mambo is looking to hire a Junior Sous Chef to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to become a part, contribute to and learn from a team of experienced and passionate service professionals.

Objective: The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef & Sous Chef with managing the kitchen staff as well as assisting in the directing and preparation of all meals while upholding the kitchen to the highest standards of cleanliness and food quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures quality of food, preparation, food appearance, cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and employee appearance.
Upholds recipe standards for the restaurant operation as determined by the Executive Chef.
Assists in training Mambo Family Members working in the kitchen.
Assists in employee performance evaluations and discipline communications.
Makes food purchases and requisitions.
Estimates food cost and consumption.
Ensures food and labor costs stay within budgeted guidelines.
Ensures all kitchen equipment works and is maintained properly.
Promotes compliance with all legal workplace standards and guidelines.
Ensures Mambo Family Members practice proper safety techniques to minimize workplace injuries.

Skills/Qualifications

Previous experience in a high volume restaurant.
Food Handler Certification.
Must have the ability to work flexible work hours including evenings and weekends and holidays.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks.
Passionate and creative.
Team Player.
