Highland cattle are known for consistent easy births, good udders, great calf growth and attentive mothering skills. Their beef has been proven to have leaner, healthier meat than other breeds by the University of Missouri. Strong, straight top lines, hardiness, thriftiness and correct feet are the visible proof of exception genetics that can produce into their twenties. Excellent breed for the homesteader as they are dual purpose with lean, healthy meat and A2 milk in easy to manage quantities with high butterfat for cheese and butter. Our genetics are shorter at the hip, but wider in the girth, which means they weigh in the same as much larger cattle, but are safer to handle due to their short stature; you're not producing excess bone, but rather muscle to make up for that weight.
Our cattle are used for not only meat and milk, but also visiting nursing homes, schools and expos. Their disposition and handling experience make them great family additions that are manageable and well adapted.
