PURPOSE: Jefferson County Road and Bridge is looking to hire Equipment Operators for our Evergreen, Conifer, and Pine shops.

Under general supervision, the Equipment Operator operates equipment as necessary for County projects, maintenance and repairs.

About Jefferson County:
Operate and/or drive equipment or vehicles used in the construction, maintenance, snow plowing and repair of county roads.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicles and equipment.
Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance. Keep time and mileage records for vehicles and equipment used.
Perform manual labor on equipment by attaching and detaching accessories to trucks and equipment.
Installation of culverts, raking asphalt, tree trimming, operating mowers, chainsaws, and hand tools.
Traffic control flagging and setting up warning signs.
Will be trained in all aspects of snow removal operations.
Keep other records as required.
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year work related experience in the operation of equipment and/or a vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more.
Must possess valid Colorado Class B Commercial Drivers License and with Air Brake restriction removed. (After hire, employee(s) may be required to obtain a Class A CDL.)
Must be able to exert 100 pounds of force to move objects.
In order to be approved you must have no major violations and no suspension for moving violations, and no alcohol related convictions in the past three years.
Must possess a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card and provide a current copy of your MVR at time of interview.
*CDL Driver's must supply 10 years of employment history if applicable.
Hiring will be contingent on results of county paid DOT & pre-placement physical and drug screen
Offer of employment contingent on criminal history, MVR check and education verification.
Must possess valid driver's license, requires valid Colorado driver's license within thirty days of hire date,
Will be required to obtain a tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire.
Must become certified as a Flagger within six months of hire date.
